Co-Pastor Rose J. Florida
Elder
Rose J. Florida is a member of Vision Christian Center International under the leadership of her husband, the Rev. Dr. Roosevelt Florida, Jr. She works closely with her
husband in the ministry where she is Co-Pastor.
They are blessed with four children, Tiffiny, Anita, Dawn and Daniel.
She attended LSU and Southern University, in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Co-Pastor Florida has
also attended Christian Bible College of Baton Rouge. She works with the youth, young adults, and couples counseling at VCCI
Ministry.
Co-Pastor Florida is founder and president of Women of Substance, a ministry that is lead by God to
unite women of all races. This ministry was birthed when God gave her a vision for the children. His command was for women from all walks of life coming together, calling on the
name of Jesus and continually praying for children
everywhere, throughout this nation, and the entire world.
Co-Pastor Rose J. Florida works in the Scotlandville Community as Director of Vision
Community Outreach church-based tutoring program, and Project AWAKE (Advancing With Academic Knowledge of Excellence). She has also established Camp Judah, a summer academic and recreational
day camp. Camp Judah provides a place of learning
and fun for the children of working mothers during the summer school break.
Co-Pastor
Florida, along with the Women of Substance worked with a group of young ladies in their junior year of high school and first
year of college to present them as debutants in "A Touch Of Royalty Debut." Young ladies having faced difficult
challenges (childbirth, rape, low self-esteem, poor grades), as well as those that faced a different type of challenge (God-centered,
good grades, self confidence,) were brought together. These young ladies visited prisons, women and children shelters,
nursing homes, enjoyed a mini soul searching retreat and engaged in many other activities.
Co-Pastor Florida has a heart for the children, and has on occasions along
with her husband, Pastor Florida, opened their home
to children while helping them to adjust to the challenges of life. Her firm belief is that we as children of The Most High God not only impact nations, we shape generations. She often admonishes to always
remember "he whom The Son has set free is free indeed." We must be able to see
ourselves beyond where we are, for without a "VISION" the people perish. She is a mother to many outside of this
ministry, as she possesses Wisdom from God. Many seek her counsel, and have been blessed by adhering to the Words that she
receives from God. Her love for all, especially women and children causes her to constantly seek God for ways to improve the
lives of all, bringing those that are lost into the acknowledge God. Co-Pastor is a mentor to other ministers seeking to be
all that God has called them to be. She is anointed to proclaim the Word of God,
a true servant.
